Sex in Early Childhood Trigger Depression

Research indicates, having sex at an early age a potential negative impact on the body and mood (mood) at a later date. According the experts analysis, this might be due in early years, the body's nervous system is still in development stages.

Although the research is based on trials using rodents in the laboratory, but the researchers believe that these findings are important and may be applied in understanding the development of human sexuality.

In his research, experts conduct tests on a pair of adult hamsters. Age females and males is equivalent to a human age when as a teenager.

The results showed that male hamsters who have sex at a young age tend to exhibit behavior or signs such as depression, weight loss, smaller reproductive tissues, and cell changes in the brain rather than hamsters that did not have sex at all.

Animals who have sex at a young age are also at risk of developing inflammation of brain tissue and has a complex cellular structure in the lower part of the brain signals.

"Having sexual intercourse at an early age, not without consequences," said John Morris, a researcher of the study, as well as a doctoral student in psychology at Ohio State University.

"This could affect the vulnerability of men associated symptoms of depression, and can also increase their risk of inflammation in adulthood," he said.

The research was published at the annual meeting of the Society for Neuroscience in Washington DC, United States.
